Sooraj Pancholi REACTS To Being Acquitted In Jiah Khan’s Suicide Case; Says, ‘The TRUTH Always Wins!’
For the past decade, Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi has been under the glaring lenses of the media. He came under the scanner when his then-girlfriend, late actress Jiah Khan committed suicide, leaving behind a six-page letter that spoke about their tumultuous relationship. On Friday, a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court cleared him of his abetment of suicide charges due to lack of evidence against him.

Sooraj had attended the hearing with his mother Zarina Wahad. The actor, who had hardly issued a statement regarding the entire matter, took to his official social media handle to react to being acquitted. Expressing his relief, he posted an Instagram story, with the caption, “The TRUTH Always Wins! (folded hands emoji, red heart emoji) #GodisGreat.” He wrote the caption on a photo of a blue sky. On the other hand, Jiah’s mother Rabia Amin in an interaction with the media, after the verdict, expressed that she will be challenging the judgement. She ssaid, “The charge of abetment to suicide has gone. But how did my child die? This is a case of murder...will approach the high court. I will go to the High Court or Supreme Court. They want me to work harder, I will work harder. I have fought for 10 years, I will fight more. For the unversed, the late actress was found dead at her residence in Juhu in 2013. She had left behind a six page letter in which she had explained how she was leading an unhappy life with Sooraj. Son to actors Zarina Wahab and Aditya Pancholi, he was then taken into custody for a week after her suicide. While he was released on bail shortly after, the Bombay High Court had asked the CBI to thoroughly investigate her death.

Raised in London, Jiah has moved to India to pursue a career in Bollywood. She had made a name for herself by starring in critically acclaimed movies like Nishabd, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan’s Ghajini and Sajid Khan’s comedy caper Housefull.
